Performance to Double as Tailgate Party Heading Into Home Game Weekend
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 14, 2014) - Having kicked off the Truckload Carriers Association's (TCA) Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour with a stop at the Knoxville West TravelCenters of America LLC (TA) in May, country recording artist and tour headliner Lindsay Lawler has added TA's Tuscaloosa, AL, location to her list of tour stops. The performance will take place Thursday, September 4, beginning at 6 pm CST. Aside from acting as a driver appreciation event, the performance will double as a tailgate party for the University of Alabama's home game that Saturday, September 6. The event will also include a remote by local country station, 95.3 The Bear.
The tour, designed to promote a better trucking industry image by increasing the public's exposure to TCA's Highway Angel program, includes a total of 18 performances, 14 taking place at TA and Petro locations across the country. Each stop features an hour-long acoustic performance from atop a flatbed truck stage (provided by Fikes Truck Line). All tour stops are posted on the tour's official website, www.truckstoptour.com. This year's tour is hosted by TA and sponsored by Schneider, Wholesale Truck and Finance, Prime, Inc., Tennant Truck Lines and Roehl Transport.
Launched in August 1997, the Highway Angel program has recognized hundreds of drivers for the unusual kindness, courtesy, and courage they have shown others while on the job.
